Excavating the poet inside

Sample from Excavating the poet inside:

Reprieve

wrap me in that blanket and carry me away
pop that bottle and let it spray
let’s go to a place where sirens can’t be heard,
nor gunshots in the distance
open the book to a new page, a new day
where life is utter joy, no matter what
you and i say

Finding Peace cover

Sample from Finding Peace:

Love as a mountain

If I could imagine a mountain
that would reach to the sky it would breathe through you

If I could inhale the extant
water of the ocean it would come from you

If I could fly above the earth looking down reflecting upon it my wings would be of you
